A Hero Stays Home
Painted during the global lockdowns of 2020, Quarantine Hero captures the moment when people were being urged to stay home to slow the spread of Covid-19. Deadpool sits on a pale sofa with his boots resting casually on the table, while Caesar from Planet of the Apes appears behind him as a reminder of a fictional virus that wipes out much of the population. Small viral forms beyond the window complete this darkly playful image of life in quarantine.
