Painted during the Covid-19 pandemic, The Uninvited plays with an unsettling cultural coincidence: shortly after Parasite became the first non-English-language film to win the Oscar for Best Picture, a real-world virus entered all of our lives. The painting turns that overlap into a quiet, darkly humorous scene about fear, intrusion and the loss of normality.
