An unexpected meeting of heroes
Batduck v Superbunny brings Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck into the visual worlds of Superman and Batman. Facing one another beneath a calm sky, the two figures seem to have stepped out of separate fictional universes and into the same scene.
Pop Symbiosis was inspired by the mergers between major film and entertainment companies. As previously separate characters began to coexist under the same corporate ownership, the series playfully imagined what might happen if their identities merged too.
The humour comes from the contrast: Superman’s optimism meets Bugs Bunny’s relaxed confidence, while Batman’s seriousness combines with Daffy Duck’s expressive personality. Instead of a confrontation, the painting presents an unexpected moment of recognition between two newly created heroes.
